Chris Kalish is the GE Director and Chief Technology Officer of the edgelab. Prior to his tenure at GE, Chris was a Technical Fellow at PepsiCo, where he was responsible for global systems architecture and technology strategies. Chris has research experience in parallel systems and hardware and compiler design, and has led applied studies in emerging technologies, such as biometrics, sales force automation, and broadband wireless technologies. Currently, the Chair of the Connecticut Technology Council, Chris is active with technology strategy development and educational consortia. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science from Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

 

Stacey Frangione, Lead Business Analyst. Stacey manages day-to-day operations including student recruiting, event management, public relations and outreach and is the key liaison between GE and the University of Connecticut. Stacey is currently completing her Bachelor of Science Degree at the John F. Welch College of Business at Sacred Heart University  

GC Vellutino, Program Manager. GC is a veteran of two semesters as an edgelab student, during which time he was also completing his MBA and advanced certificates in Marketing Intelligence at UConn. GC began his career at Sony, where he worked on national promotions and brand-building initiatives for the consumer electronics group. As a marketing agency account manager, he has handled multi-million dollar campaigns for Coca-Cola and Unilever. GC also has experience developing new markets for wireless telecom services; marketing technology symposiums featuring Microsoft, Cisco, Motorola, and others; and constructing online marketing campaigns. GC holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut, a BA in English from Princeton University, and a pre-college diploma from The Juilliard School.

 

 

Katie Kinsella is the Emerging Technologies Leader at edgelab. In her role, Katie is responsible for forging and managing relationships with several hundred technology suppliers, hosting the emergeNow collaborative technology evaluation system, and managing the associated community across the GE businesses. Prior to edgelab, Katie was a member of GE’s Information Management Leadership Program. After completing the program, Katie joined the CIS Digital Media Technologies team, where she was instrumental in managing the GE.com website and a key contributor for the Ecomagination and Annual Report sites, as well as other key web-projects. Katie holds a Bachelors Degree in MSIS from Penn State.

 

Timothy J. Dowding, Ph.D, serves as the UConn Director of edgelab and is a Professor-in-Residence for the Uconn Operations & Information Management Department in Stamford, CT. Dr. Dowding received his Ph.D. in Instructional Media & Technology from UConn, with a minor in Cognitive Psychology. He focused on improving the usability and effectivness of software interfaces and functional design. As an Associate Professor with UCONN, his teaching duties focus on undergraduate courses in business information systems, database design, and operations management. He has over 22 years experience in training and education for adults, specializing in instructional design and development of large-scale training programs for Fortune 500 corporations including G.E. Capital, American Express, Hoffman-LaRoche, Johnson & Johnson. In addition, he has completed projects for the U.S. Navy, State of Connecticut, and Canadian government. He also was founder and president of a corporation that provided computer software training services throughout Connecticut over a seven-year period. Dr. Dowding is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, and currently holds the rank of Commander in the Naval Reserves (Retired).
